Providing relief to vulnerable children, street girls and the disabled in Sierra Leone

We have started a new co-operation with Pink Power!

THINK BIG – THINK PINK

Pink Power is a grassroots movement fighting for human rights of the most vulnerable girls and women in Sierra Leone. Started and led by sex-workers, the initiative is aiming to eliminate violence against girls and women.

  • Create awareness about life and conditions of sex workers
  • Organizing and mobilizing sex workers to stay united and fight for their human rights
  • Running educational campaigns about human rights and how to eliminate oppressive and aggressive behaviour
  • Raising awareness about HIV and other STIs

We ran a small study among sex-workers in Freetown in order to understand their work conditions, life and background. We will publish the results on the 2nd of June, on the International Sex Workers Day.

OUR PROGRAMMES

X-PROSTITUTION

Many young women are forced to sell themselves because of poverty and lack of family relationships. Some of the girls are only 12-13 years old.
We give them a new chance in life.

INCLUSION FOR ALL

The disabled in Sierra Leone are marginalized politically and face discrimination in their communities. They are highly stigmatized, don’t have access to jobs and are forced to beg to survive.

TALENT PROGRAMME

There are many children in Sierra Leone who, despite lack of family relations, poverty and a very hard upbringing, have opportunities to succeed if they get the chance.
